State Tax Forms No Longer Available in Print Format
For many years public libraries and post offices throughout the state of New Jersey have partnered with the Division of Taxation in distributing the forms for filing State Tax Returns. For the upcoming 2009 tax season; however, the New Jersey Division of Taxation will not issue State income tax forms in print format to former distribution points. According to a letter issued by the Division on October 23, “this change is the direct result of the current economic situation which has resulted in mandated cost saving measures the Division must undertake.”
State tax forms are available on the website of the Division of Taxation: http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/
Taxpayers unable to access the forms from home may use the computers in their public libraries, where forms can be
printed for a nominal fee. Another option for obtaining paper forms is to call the Division of Taxation Customer Service
Hotline (609-292-6400) and ask to have the 2009 1040 mailed directly to your home at no charge.
